March Break Family Program

Spend some time outdoor this March Break with a day at the Tiffin Centre for Conservation.
NVCA’s “March Break Family Program” will run twice this year – once on Monday, March 12 and again on Friday, March 16 (10 am to 3 pm each day).
Tour Tiffin’s maple sugar bush and visit the Sugar Shack to see how maple syrup is made. Then try snowshoes and kick-sleds, make a craft, see how far you can throw a snow snake, and explore the Tiffin forest with a scavenger hunt. If the warmer weather continues, we’ll trade the snowshoes and kick-sleds for birding, GPS and orienteering programs!
March Break Family Days offer an all-ages program for the whole family. Admission is $7.50 per person in advance or $10 at the door. Children three and under attend free of charge. To register in advance, visit http://www.nvca.on.ca or call 705-424-1479.

If you can’t make it out Monday or Friday, the Tiffin Centre is open Tuesday to Thursday for self-guided sugar bush tours. The Sugar Shack will be open daily from 1 to 3 p.m. No registration is required. Daily parking rates of $6.50 per vehicle apply.
The Tiffin Centre is located at 8195 8th Line (Essa), just 10 minutes west of Barrie. It is a four-season recreation destination with more than 300 acres of forest, meadow and wetlands.
The Tiffin Centre is also the site of the annual Spring Tonic Maple Syrup Festival hosted by the Rotary Club of Barrie and NVCA. This year, Spring Tonic will be held April 7 and 8.
