Farmers Concerned of Crop Growth After Significant Decline in Bee Population in Ontario

The long, cold winter felt across most of Canada this year is being blamed for heavy losses of bees,
A survey of almost 900 Ontario beekeepers suggests that 70 percent of colonies suffered unsustainable losses this past winter.
The president of the Ontario Beekeepers’ Association says the issue won’t likely affect the price of honey but may cause problems for vegetable and fruit growers because of fewer bees pollinating crops.
