Lindsay Lohan said she is “very supportive” of women but she had some controversial opinions about the #MeToo movement.
In an interview with The Times, Lohan revealed why she doesn’t agree with Hollywood’s movement against sexual misconduct.
“I don’t really have anything to say. I can’t speak on something I didn’t live, right? Look, I am very supportive of women,” Lohan said. “Everyone goes through their own experiences in their own ways.”
“If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment,” the actress said. “You make it a real thing by making it a police report.”
Lohan added: “I’m going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women.”
The Mean Girls actress went on to say that she believes some of the women who have come forward with stories of sexual assault are seeking attention.
“You have these girls who come out, who don’t even know who they are, who do it for the attention,” she said. “That is taking away from the fact that it happened.”
In October 2017, Lohan came to the defence of Harvey Weinstein, who has been condemned by many in Hollywood over allegations of sexual assault and harassment.

She went on Instagram to let fans know that she supports Weinstein, saying, “I feel very bad for Harvey Weinstein right now. I don’t think it’s right what’s going on.”
“I think Georgina needs to take a stand and be there for her husband,” Lohan said of Weinstein’s wife, who has said she was leaving her husband after what she calls his “unforgivable actions.”
“He’s never harmed me or did anything to me. We’ve done several movies together,” she continued. “I think everyone needs to stop. I think it’s wrong. So, stand up.”
Lohan’s controversial interview with The Times comes just days after MTV shared a first look at her upcoming reality series set in Greece, tentaviely called Lohan Beach Club.
The show will premiere in 2019 and follow The Parent Trap actress and the staff at her club in Mykonos.Follow @KatieScottNews
