About Farruko:
Carlos Efrén Reyes Rosado, professionally known as Farruko, is a Puerto Rican singer, songwriter, and global music pioneer whose genre-bending sound and evolving artistry have made him one of the most influential Latin artists of his generation. Known for his ability to seamlessly blend reggaetón, trap, rap, dancehall, reggae, pop, and faith-driven lyricism, Farruko continues to shape the landscape of Latin music.
Over the course of his career, Farruko has released a rich catalog of studio albums, including El Talento del Bloque, TMPR: The Most Powerful Rookie, Visionary, TrapXficante, Gangalee, and La 167 – each project showcasing his artistic growth and versatility. His discography has produced numerous chart-topping singles such as “6 AM,” “Chillax,” “Obsesionado,” “Calma (Remix),” “Lejos de Aquí,” “Pepas,” and “El Incomprendido.”
A dominant force on the charts, Farruko has earned 47 career No. 1s on Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart, along with multiple Gold, Platinum, and Diamond certifications from the RIAA. In 2020 alone, he secured 36 entries on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, including eight Top 10s. That same year, he headlined a sold-out arena show at the Kaseya Center in Miami, marking the culmination of his Gangalee era.
In 2021, Farruko released his critically acclaimed album La 167 – a deeply personal and genre-defying body of work that paid tribute to his Puerto Rican roots and late grandfather. The album produced the global smash “Pepas,” which redefined the crossover potential of Latin club anthems. La 167 earned Farruko his first GRAMMY® nomination in the Best Música Urbana Album category and solidified his place among Latin music’s elite.
Farruko’s creative and spiritual evolution has been a defining force in recent years. Tracks like “Nazareno” and “Viaje”reflect his personal transformation and commitment to spreading messages of faith, purpose, and gratitude. In 2022, he made history as the first Latin artist to close NPR’s Tiny Desk ‘El Tiny’ series post-pandemic, delivering a powerful and intimate performance.
In 2023, Farruko returned with “Pasa_je_ro.” The track marked a career milestone, becoming his 47th No. 1 on the Latin Airplay chart, and also topped Latin Rhythm Airplay and held the No. 1 spot on Latin Pop Airplay for four consecutive weeks – a major achievement following his shift in musical direction. “Pasa_je_ro” joined the ranks of Farruko’s biggest hits and reaffirmed his enduring chart power.
In 2024, Farruko was the only artist featured on the official Bob Marley: One Love (Deluxe Edition) soundtrack to record a new version of a Marley classic with the reggae legend’s original vocals. His tribute, “Rasta Reggae (Jamming),” honored Marley’s legacy while fusing it with Farruko’s distinct Caribbean flair.
Most recently, Farruko unveiled his latest visionary work: CVRBON VRMOR, a bold new studio album that continues his exploration of faith, resilience, and sonic innovation. The project’s focus track, “CABLES CRUZADOS,” reached #1 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Airplay chart for the week of February 22, marking Farruko’s eighth chart-topper on that list since his first #1 hit with “Obsesionado” in 2016.
He also collaborated with Venezuelan artist Louis BPM on the transcendental EP 167BPM – an 8-track project recorded entirely in Venezuela. Released in September 2025, 167BPM honors Farruko’s childhood street La 167, merging it with Louis BPM’s musical identity in a cross-cultural fusion rooted in authenticity and creative synergy.
With more than 30 billion global streams, countless accolades, and a commitment to artistic truth, Farruko remains one of the most dynamic, genre-defying, and spiritually driven voices in Latin music today. |
