Cat, dog or hedgehog, we want to see what awesome pets are in The County of Simcoe. One winner will be selected each Friday at 3pm (except on Friday, May 17th, the draw will take place at 8am from eligible entries for the weekly prize.
The grand prize winner will be selected on Friday, May 17 at 9am from the 4 weekly prize winners!
Did you know?
- Most people are using their green bins but may not be putting everything they can in. Pet waste, including pet droppings, kitty litter and small animal cage bedding, make up 15% of curbside garbage. Help us to keep over 6,000 tonnes of pet waste out of the landfill.
- Waste audits in the County indicate that 54% of the average resident’s garbage is organic material that could have gone into the green bin. That is 20,000 tonnes annually; contrast that with the 3.4% or 1,300 tonnes annually that is plastic film, bags and Styrofoam which many residents want programs for and you’ll see that organics really are the low hanging fruit.
