Arts Orillia is proud to announce the return of its signature fundraising gala, Showcase 2026, on April 24, 2026, at the historic Gordon Lightfoot Stage of the Orillia Opera House. This year’s theme—A Night to Ignite the Arts—promises an electrifying evening celebrating creativity, community, and the transformative power of youth in the arts.
Following last year’s sold-out debut, Showcase has quickly become one of the region’s most anticipated cultural events. Guests will once again be seated onstage for a rare behind-the-scenes dining and performance experience offering an intimate look at the creative process.
A Night to Ignite the Arts: One Night. One Stage. Infinite Impact.
More than a gala, Showcase 2026 is a powerful demonstration of how arts education, mentorship, and creative opportunity can ignite confidence, belonging, and possibility for young people across Simcoe County. Last year alone, Arts Orillia served more than 1,000 youth through workshops, festivals, performances, and free after-school digital arts programs—experiences many young people would not have access to without community support. “Our programs give young people a place to feel seen, supported, and inspired,” says Kate Hilliard, Artistic Director. “When a Grade 6 student tells us, ‘Arts Orillia puts people on stage who look like me—no one else does that here,’ we are reminded of why this work matters.”
An Unforgettable On‑Stage Experience: Guests of Showcase 2026 will enjoy:
· Dinner on the Lightfoot Stage, transforming the historic auditorium into an immersive dining experience
· Live performances by local youth and professional artists, highlighting the real-world impact of arts engagement
· A behind-the-scenes look rarely available to audiences, revealing the creative process from a new perspective
· Stories of youth transformation from programs including Global Steps, Gathering: Festival of First Nations Stories, the Orillia Jazz Festival, and the Creative Youth Lab
This year’s theme underscores the spark that happens when the community gathers to support youth creativity—and the ripple effects that follow.
Why Your Support Matters
Arts engagement is proven to strengthen mental health, social connection, resilience, empathy, and academic performance—benefits that are especially powerful for youth facing barriers to participation. Through partnerships with schools, Indigenous communities, and local artists, Arts Orillia ensures that the arts remain accessible, inclusive, and life-changing across the region. The gala is a vital source of support for these programs. “Supporting Showcase means supporting the next generation of thinkers, makers, storytellers, and leaders,” says Arts Orillia. “It means saying yes to creativity, belonging, and opportunity for every young person.”
