North American kids spend an average of six hours a day on screens and less than an hour outdoors, according to the David Suzuki Foundation. In fact, they spend less time outside than any generation in human history, in spite of research showing that time in nature reduces stress and symptoms of attention-deficit disorders while increasing immunity, energy and creativity.
With all those impressive benefits on offer, why not enrol your kids in Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority’s “Spring into Scanlon” March Break Camp this year? We offer four jam-packed days of outdoor fun, adventure and education for children aged six to 12. Our experienced educators won’t just get your kids outside (and off their phones), they’ll make sure they have fun while doing it!
Each day holds new adventures, from Orienteering, to Maple Syrup, to Birding, to Art and Photography and Drum Circles. There’s something for everyone, and your child may very well find their new passion at camp.
“Spring into Scanlon” March Break Camp takes place for four days only, from Tuesday, March 13 to Friday, March 16. Register for one day or all four.
The program runs from 9 am until 4pm each day, with extended camp hours until 5pm sharp for an additional fee.
The cost is $45 per day, with discounts offered if you sign up for more than two days. Extended camp hours until 5pm is an additional $10 per day.
