Cheryl Luymes, Siobhan Kewin, Jacinta Ellis-Kewin, Nichola Kewin and Noreen McDonald of Simcoe Sojourners: Inspired by L’Arche have been meeting for years with the hope of one day establishing a L’Arche-style community of support for persons with disabilities in Barrie. For 13 of those years they have been building community at the GIFTS THAT GIVE FAIR. This year they have exciting news to share about the progress they are making towards acquiring their first home.
Join Simcoe Sojourner’s, Days for Girls, Sleeping Children Around the World, Grandmothers and Grandothers, Candlelighters Simcoe Parents of Children with Cancer, Camphill, Freeset, Chalice, Doda International, Casanicnac and TEN THOUSAND VILLAGES at Gifts That Give on Sat. Nov. 9 from 10 to 3 and Sun. Nov.10 from 9 to 1:00 at St. Mary’s Church Hall in Barrie and talk to them about their non-profit initiatives in fair trade, social justice and aid and development.
