Relive the nostalgia of retro video games and go head-to-head in a video game tournament at the City of Barrie’s Game On! event. The annual gaming event takes place Saturday, September 21, 2024, in partnership with the Barrie Public Library Comic Fest.
This year’s event features an all-ages Mario Kart tournament hosted by We Got Game taking place from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Downtown branch of the Barrie Public Library. Participants can check in on-site at the Game On! Booth during the Library’s Comic Fest.
Game On! After Dark is for ages 19+ and is taking place from 6 – 10 p.m. at the Five Points Theatre. The evening will feature Barrie’s Ultimate Gamer Tournament. The top four competitors will face off for the chance to be named “Barrie’s Ultimate Gamer 2024” and win a prize donated by Power Up Gaming.
The 19+ tournament will be hosted by Canadian hip-hop artist and three-time Juno Award winner Desmond Francis, known as Infinite, and Louise Jackson, dedicated leader, and inspirational speaker. The two are collaborating on the production of “The Infinite and Louise Show”, an upcoming entertainment series.

The evening event will also feature a cosplay mixer and mingle, an escape room, retro gaming and board game lounge areas. Participants are invited to bring their own board games. Admission is free. Pre-registration is required to attend the event and participate in the tournament. Availability is limited. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
