Whether you live nearby, or come from afar, whether you’re a member of the public or a member of the Borden defence team, our doors will be open to all of you on June 2nd and 3rd this year!
In 2018, we celebrate 60 years of North American Aerospace Defence Command (NORAD), and there’s no better place to recognize this partnership that than right here in Borden, the birthplace of the Royal Canadian Air Force. Featured as part of CAFD, the airshow will include Canadian Forces demonstration teams such as the CF-18 Hornet Fighter Jet, the Snowbirds, and the SkyHawks Parachute Team pictured here.
While you’re here, we encourage you to visit all the military unit displays to learn about what we do, as the largest training base in Canada. Whether it’s vehicle technicians at the Royal Canadian Electrical Mechanical Engineering School, padres training at the Canadian Forces Chaplain School and Centre, 400 Tactical Helicopter Squadron who support the maintenance of our CH146 Griffons coming back from active duty in the Middle East and Africa, or the Regional Cadet Support Unit where CAF members support the training for over 17,000 cadets in Ontario, we celebrate a “team of teams” here at Base Borden.
